Curious case of Silence of Narendra Modi

Another “Mann ki Baat” went by this Sunday. Our communicative (respectable word for talkative) PM Modiji, maintained his silence on Sushma Swaraj, Vasundhara Raje, Pankaja Munde corruption issues. That he came to power riding on anti-incumbency against UPA, fuelled by earth shattering corruption, has made it difficult for Modi to respond. 

People are confused as to the reason he is taking no action against the culprits. A whole generation who is used to the corrupt UPA Govts, is confused more so. We have witnessed Sonia Gandhi dismissing people who were found involved in Corruption. Kalmadi, Raja, Chavan, Bansal among others. I acknowledge that it was just a hogwash as these people never were sentenced and no were not made to pay back the corrupt money.

Why is Modi not sacking his people? There are a few reasons involved. 

Strategy of Amit Shah and Team: Resignations by UPA Ministers was felt by public as the admission of guilt. At least that’s What Shah and Team felt. Hence they have ruled out any resignations. Let is play our in whatever way, don’t acknowledge it. 

Second is the cushion of 270: UPA was heavily reliant on allies. They used to come under attack by their own allies on corruption issues. To buy peace with the allies, easy way out for Sonia Gandhi was to dismiss the minister or make him/her resign. NDA has no such compulsions. Allies can’t pressure them.

Modi is no Sonia: The power that Sonia wielded, Modi can’t match that ever. Every word of Sonia was gospel, every order a commandment. She could dismiss people without rebellion. Such was the might of Gandhi surname. The loyalty to Gandhi family was deeply imbibed in the DNA of subdued members. Modi can’t do the same. He will face rebellion within the party and from RSS ranks alike. He has to live with a lot of such people, unlike Gandhi.

Shield the Gandhis: With Congress the things was, Gandhi’s needed to be shielded at all cost. That the money ultimately reached to the top was not acknowledged. Any taint was nipped in the bud, before it could reach Gandhis. Before anyone could question them, they seemed to take a step. BJP has no such compulsion. A lot of his party members have no issue with dirt reaching Modi’s step. They are happy to let him fend for himself.

So expect no action unless it is backed by RSS. BJP rank and file has more fear of RSS than Modi. RSS doesn't like muck to reach them just like Gandis. RSS disavows people just like Gandhis. But Modi has to live with compulsions just like Manmohan.

Why Sushma Swaraj helped Lalit Modi covertly?

A case has been made that Sushma Swaraj has helped Lalit Modi based on humanitarian issue. That she has raised the status of Foreign Ministry by her other helpful acts.

I do agree with the latter part. Foreign Ministry has come a long way since the days of Natwar Lal. Sushma Swaraj has indeed helped a lot to Indians staying abroad. She along with Modi (Narendra, not Lalit), has improved relations with countries across the world. 

But does helping NRI's exempt her from accountability to the electorate who chose BJP and went to voting stations; stood in lines and voted for them? No...Never! She is accountable not to NRI's or foreign countries, but to voters of India. 

As to the question Why she helped him covertly? One has to understand how she helped this thug of a man. Lalit Modi represents all that is wrong with the system. A thug with contacts to big politicians, made a lot of money by covert means. And now when law wants to catch him, he with the help of same politicians is cooling off in a foreign country. All humanitarian consideration for such thugs with money it seems!

She didn't notify anyone, No tweets or media briefs for this humanitarian acts. She personally met Lalit modi, Keith Vaz, Called UK people directly and aided Lalit Modi (who was partying in Ibiza with his family 3 days after the said operation). She didn't asked Indian High commission in UK to look into the case. She didn't put it on a file. Why you must be asking, Why? Easy, to protect herself from RTI later on. If nothing is in writing how will it be ever known? But for these leaked emails, we poor Indians would not have come to know about this humanitarian act of the Minister.

Why she tried to deprive us of knowing her helpful act. RTI...RTI...RTI is the only reason. From last one year BJP has done nothing to bring Lalit Modi to task. Still they are living in a make believe world where they think, they can wriggle out of every problem by blaming Congress. Wake up buddy, we have already thrown Congress away and brought you instead.

One year and cronyism already. I wonder what coming years behold!

Ever since skeletons started tumbling out of BJP's cupboard, each new day has brought out new documents. Whistle blowers document, RTI documents, verified documents, unverified documents. 

For a lot of Indians and NRI's alike, it has come as a heartbreak, which has even silenced their Messiah (read Modi). No twitter this time round. It has been heartbreak too soon for us all who were relieved that Congress thuggery has been wiped out of the country once and for all.

Little did we know that it was a time for one set of cronies to be replaced by other set of cronies. Little did we know that it's all thugs out there, just different names and different masks. Little did we know that power indeed goes to head.

Fugitive aided by Indian External Affairs Minister

BJP is getting tangled in its own web of high moral ground and propriety. Latest one is Sushma Swaraj. 

Such acts were common during Congress regime and BJP never lost an opportunity to hammer on it. Now the tables have turned. A person, who is on the run from India and has a lookout notice against him, is helped by Minister of External affairs with direct intervention to able to travel. 

The argument being made is of “Humanitarian Grounds”. Big Fat Joke! The person in return is in touch with husband of the Minister and thanks him for the generosity of the Minister. This reeks of rottenness. 

Now Govt. will officially help the fugitives on the run? Is that it? Ok. So Minister helped him. Did she make any effort to get him deported to India to face the law of the land? No! When a phone call from her can get him travel documents, doesn't she have any power to bring him back to India to face trial? 

It saddens me to see a set of thugs (Congress beneficiaries), being replaced by another set of thugs. Same old story, Same old excuses, Same old me, Same old you, Same old Country!
