In a bit to help Wait Listed passengers whose tickets does not get confirmed, IRCTC has ties up with GoAir and Spicejet to provide an alternative of air ticket.
As per IRCTC un-booked flight seats will be made available to passengers. Pricing will also be reasonable for such tickets. Currently the number of such tickets are limited and offer if by invitation by IRCTC only.
Eligibility
Wait Listed tickets bought 3 days prior to journey which does not get confirmed are eligible for flight booking.
Invitation
IRCTC will send email to eligible passengers with an option to choose flight. Flight availability depends on the sector Goair and Speicejet ply.
Will Train fare be adjusted against Air fare?
No. Pay full money for air ticket. Wait Listed train fare refund processes as usual.
Is name change allowed while booking flight tickets?
No name change is allowed. Should be exactly the same as in train booking
What if I cancel the flight later?
Since these are last minu
te flights, Cancellation penalty will be on the higher side. Hence book only if you are sure.
